World Book Day Nail Art: The Very Hungry Caterpillar

To celebrate World Book Day, one of my lovely clients - who works in early years education - asked for a playful nail design inspired by The Very Hungry Caterpillar. She brought in a reference from @thedailynailofficial, and I recreated the look.

We started with a gel manicure on her natural nails, then mixed custom colours to match the illustrations from the classic book. Each detail was hand-painted to bring the caterpillar nail art to life. The result? A sweet and subtle set of book-inspired nails that’s perfect for teachers, nursery staff, or anyone who loves creative, storybook-style designs.

Whether you’re taking part in dress-up day or just want something a little different for spring, this design is fun and cute but still subtle enough for everyday wear.
